Every ADV Original starts life with the people who will eventually use it. As testing continues, we'll keep sharing the journey and, if feedback genuinely improves the product, we'll build it in.

Why We Built It

Every Adventurer eventually runs out of space.

No matter how carefully the kit is packed, there always seems to be one more layer to carry or a sleeping bag taking up half the available room.

Compression bags solve part of the problem.

They push the air out and make soft kit smaller.

Dry bags solve another.

They keep equipment protected from water, dirt and the general mess that comes with travelling.

We couldn't understand why they needed to be two separate products.

So we set out to build one bag that could do both.

The Seahkka Compression Dry Bag combines the tough, waterproof construction of a dry bag with the space-saving function of a vacuum bag.

No pump.

No additional equipment.

Just pack it, close it and roll the air out.

The result isn't simply a smaller bag.

It's more room for everything else.

Designed This Way

The principle is simple.

Put the kit inside.

Close the airtight zip-lock rail.

Open the valve.

Then roll the bag to push the trapped air out.

Once compressed, close the valve and the bag holds its reduced size.

There is no pump to carry, no vacuum cleaner needed and no complicated system to operate.

That matters because a product designed to save space shouldn't require more equipment to make it work.

Two Jobs. One Bag.

Seahkka brings together two useful pieces of kit.

A waterproof dry bag.

And a manual vacuum compression bag.

Used together, they protect clothing, sleeping equipment and other soft gear while reducing the amount of space they take up inside panniers, duffels, campervans, cars and backpacks.

You shouldn't have to choose between keeping your gear dry and packing it smaller.

Built for Repeated Use

Disposable household vacuum bags were never designed for adventure travel.

They can puncture, split or become difficult to seal after repeated use.

Seahkka uses coated ripstop nylon chosen to resist tearing while preventing air and water from passing through the fabric.

It is designed to be packed, compressed, unpacked and used again.

Because saving space is only useful when the bag survives the journey.

Built for Real Adventures

Some trips need a few spare clothes.

Others need insulated layers, bulky sleeping equipment and enough kit for several days away.

Seahkka helps make better use of the space already available.

Use it inside a motorcycle pannier.

Pack it into Any Duffel.

Store it in a campervan.

Carry it inside a rucksack.

Current prototype testing has reduced the packed size of clothing by around 30%, with sleeping bags compressing by up to 50%, depending on the item and its insulation.

The exact result will always depend on what is packed inside.

Why Seahkka?

Seahkka takes its name from a Northern Sámi word associated with a bag or sack.

It fits a product built around a simple purpose:

Carry what matters while taking up less space.

The name is pronounced roughly “Seah-kka”—close enough to “sack” to be easily remembered, while keeping the connection to the northern landscapes and practical thinking that have influenced other ADV products.
