Its a tubbing ADVenture for sure! One of the (many) things that really sets our Lavvu apart is the Tub design, also known as the Bathtub Floor or Bathtub Groundsheet, you have to test it in all conditions to get it right.
In the early protypes we mostly tested in Summer and all was good, even in the rain. Then winter came and we realised we needed a re-think, in high wind the tub was collapsing and blowing in cold wind and rain, simple, make the Tub deeper, ok not so simple, the higher the Tub the more it collapsed. John put his architecurtal design hat one and came up with the solution. On all 6 points we now have a Tub-Stay (C) that when pegged in it helps keep the Tub up to stop wind and rain coming in. In the last prototype I took it on a Scout Camp in Snowdonia, -6, windy, cold, wet and snow, the difference was night and day, the solution worked and it now in the final version.
Little things make a massive difference!
The marginal increase in weight and pack size was off-set by making the poles 16mm not 20mm, so all in a developement we were super happy about.
Oh and it also incrased usable floorpace and generally made the whole inside a nicer place to be.
