Why We Built It

Once you've found somewhere to sit, you need somewhere to put the brew.

Camping tables aren't complicated things, and we don't think they need to be. But, like a lot of outdoor kit, some of the smallest details become the biggest annoyances once you've actually lived with them.

Fabric-topped tables save a little weight, but spill something on them and it soaks in. Put them away wet and they stay wet. Mud, food and camp grime aren't always particularly easy to clean off either.

We wanted something more practical.

A proper aluminium top that can be wiped clean, dried and packed away. A collapsible frame that gets the whole table down to a genuinely useful 40 × 13 × 10cm. And a carry bag that isn't going to give up long before the table does.

Nothing revolutionary.

Just a small table designed around actually using it.

That final couple of lines are important. We shouldn't pretend ADV invented the camping table. It actually strengthens the brand when we're comfortable saying that.

Designed This Way

The MIDA starts with an aluminium tabletop.

It's solid enough for a brew, dinner, stove or whatever else ends up beside you at camp, but more importantly it's practical. Spill something and wipe it off. Get it wet and dry it. No fabric holding water, collecting stains or being packed away damp.

Underneath is a collapsible frame designed to disappear into a small package when the adventure moves on.

Packed, the entire table measures just 40 × 13 × 10cm — small enough to fit alongside the rest of your camp setup rather than becoming another awkward thing to find space for.

Then there's the bag.

It's an easy part to overlook, so naturally it's something we didn't want to overlook.

Rather than the thin nylon or polyester bags commonly supplied with camping tables, MIDA uses the same thinking we've applied to the Nomad and COT 150: a strong carry bag designed to be used over and over again.

Because if the table lasts for years, its bag should too.

Built for Real Adventures

MIDA isn't trying to become the centrepiece of camp.

That's rather the point.

It's somewhere for the morning brew outside the Lavvu. Somewhere to prep dinner. Somewhere for the stove, your book, a map, a beer or all those little things that otherwise end up balanced on your lap or sitting in the dirt.

Set it up when you need it.

Fold it down when you don't.

And when it's time to move on, wipe it clean, put it back in its bag and get going.

A small table that earns its place in the kit.
